“combining portable ultrasound with AI could make the 21st-century stethoscope.”
Established in 2018, MEDO was born from the idea that the combination of portable ultrasound with AI could make the 21st-century stethoscope, allowing users to peer into the human body and make important diagnoses accurately and reliably with the help of AI trained on thousands of previous cases.
MEDO was started in 2018 by Dornoosh Zonoobi, a computer scientist, and radiologists Jeevesh Kapur and Jacob Jaremko. MEDO’s vision was shaped and formed through the 2017 Entrepreneur First (EF) incubator process, leading to the most successful seed round in the history of EF Singapore to date. MEDO now has over 25 employees in Singapore and Canada. Its success is driven by focus and expertise dedicated to ultrasound imaging, and by the dynamic connection between its co-founders who combine subspecialty clinical expertise as practicing radiologists with a thorough understanding of deep learning methods.
